About Canalside Farm
Canalside Farm is a family-run pick-your-own and farm shop at Great Haywood, near Stafford. It grows soft fruit for summer picking and more than 15,000 pumpkins, squashes and gourds for its October pumpkin patch, in varieties from Turk’s Turban and Crown Prince to Ghost and Queensland Blue.
Pumpkin Picking at Canalside Farm
This is a genuine pick-your-own field event: you go into the patch and pick your own, with the pumpkins charged by weight on top of the entry ticket. There is a maize maze, family games and photo spots, and on some evenings glow-lit late-night sessions with performers, a UV maze and marshmallow toasting. Entry is booked in advance.

Opening Times & Prices
The pumpkin patch runs on selected dates across October (in 2025 from 3 to 28 October, daytime 10am to 4pm, with late-night slots on some Fridays from 6pm). Entry was £5 per person (under-2s free) with the pumpkins charged by weight on top; late-night sessions were £6. Advance booking is required. The dates for the coming season had not been published at the time of writing.
