Claremont Farm at Bebington is one of the best-known pick-your-own pumpkin patches on the Wirral. The family-run farm opens its pumpkin field each October for free-entry pick-your-own, where you head into the field, pick straight from the plants and pay by weight, with a farm shop and cafe on the main site for afterwards. It is an easy trip from Birkenhead, Bromborough and across to Liverpool.
About Claremont Farm
Claremont is a working family farm run by the Pimbley family, and a long-standing Wirral destination. As well as the autumn pumpkins it runs pick-your-own soft fruit in summer, sunflowers and a maize maze, and has a farm shop, butcher, seafood shack and cafe open year-round. So while the pumpkins are the October draw, there is plenty on site to make a longer visit of it.
Pumpkin Picking at Claremont Farm
This is a genuine pick-your-own: you walk into the field and pick your pumpkins straight from the plants, with everything from full-size carving pumpkins to mini pumpkins and gourds. Wheelbarrows are available in the field to help carry larger hauls, though they can be limited at busy times. The pumpkin field is a short way from the main farm complex (over the motorway bridge, following the pick-your-own parking signs), and it is open farmland, so wellies are a good idea after rain.

Opening Times & Prices
The pumpkin field opens in early October (in 2025 it opened on 3 October), 10am to 5pm daily, and runs until the pumpkins are gone, with no booking required. The dates for the coming season had not been published at the time of writing, so check the farm’s website or Facebook page closer to the time.
There is no entry fee to the pumpkin field, and you pay by weight at the weighing shed: in 2025, mini pumpkins and gourds were around £1 each and larger pumpkins about £1 per kilo (so a typical pumpkin came to roughly £2 to £4, with the biggest £8 to £15). Prices for the coming season may differ. Both cash and card are accepted.
