Craigie’s Farm at South Queensferry, just outside Edinburgh, grows tens of thousands of its own pumpkins and runs a genuine pick-your-own field each October, building up to a full Pumpkin Festival later in the month. You wander the fields and pick your own, with a farm shop, deli and cafe on site. It is one of the best-known pumpkin days out near Edinburgh.

About Craigie’s Farm

Craigie’s is a working family farm at West Craigie, South Queensferry, with a popular farm shop, deli and cafe and pick-your-own through the year. It grows its own pumpkins on site, and the October pumpkin season is a big part of its calendar.

Pumpkin Picking at Craigie’s Farm

The pumpkins are grown on the farm, so you head into the fields and pick your own. The season usually runs in two phases: a quieter pick-your-own period at the start of October, then a fuller Pumpkin Festival from around the middle of the month, with a bale trail, Halloween photo spots and some paid extras. Entry is ticketed, with the pumpkins paid for separately.

Opening Times & Prices

The pumpkin season runs through October (in 2025, a quieter pick-your-own period from 1 to 10 October, then the full festival from 11 to 31 October). Entry is booked online in advance, with the pumpkins paid for separately. As a guide, daytime entry has been a few pounds per person. The shop and cafe are open daily 9am to 5pm. The dates and prices for the coming season had not been published at the time of writing.
