Essington Farm has been farmed by the Simkin family since 1892, with a farm shop, pick-your-own and a cafe. The October pumpkin patch is a confirmed annual pick-your-own, where the pumpkins are grown on the farm.

You head into the dedicated pumpkin field and pick your own, with a tractor and trailer ride out to the field on some dates. There is a small admission, with the pumpkins paid for separately by size. Entry is on pre-booked timed slots, so reserve ahead.
Opening Times & Prices
The pumpkin patch runs on selected October dates (in 2025 across the weekends and half-term, roughly 4 to 26 October, in 30-minute timed slots from 9am to 4pm). Admission has been around £2.50 to £3 per person (under-3s free), with the pumpkins paid for separately from around £2 to £10 by size. Pre-booking is essential. The dates for the coming season had not been published at the time of writing.
