Hodgehill Garden Centre, Kidderminster, Worcestershire, West Midlands

Hodgehill is a long-established, family-run farm shop, garden centre and cafe on the Birmingham Road just outside Kidderminster in Worcestershire. It is worth being clear up front: this is a year-round destination for local food and plants rather than a pick-your-own pumpkin farm. There is no pick-your-own patch to walk here, but as a farm shop it is the kind of place to pick up a pumpkin locally in the autumn, and it makes an easy Kidderminster stop with a coffee and a wander round the plants.

About Hodgehill

Hodgehill began, in its own telling, as a small shed selling home-grown tomatoes and has grown over more than thirty years into a full farm shop, garden centre and cafe on the Birmingham Road at Kidderminster. The farm shop sells fresh produce alongside a butchery and deli counter, bakery, dairy and local drinks; the garden centre carries plants, houseplants and, in winter, Nordmann Fir Christmas trees; and the cafe is open through the week. The whole site is dog-friendly, including the cafe.

Pumpkins at Hodgehill

Hodgehill is a farm shop and garden centre rather than a pick-your-own pumpkin farm, and it does not appear to run a pumpkin patch you can walk. In the run-up to Halloween, pumpkins are the sort of seasonal produce a farm shop like this typically brings in, so it can be a convenient place to pick one up locally. If pumpkin picking in a field is what you are after, one of the dedicated Worcestershire and West Midlands patches in our listings will suit better. It is worth checking Hodgehill’s Facebook page for what they have in nearer the time.

Opening Times & Prices

The farm shop is open Monday to Saturday 8:30am to 5:30pm and Sunday 10am to 4pm; the garden centre keeps similar hours (closing at 5pm on Saturdays), and the cafe runs Monday to Saturday 9am to 4pm and Sunday 10am to 3pm. Pumpkin stock and any prices are seasonal, so it is best to check nearer October.
