Libby’s Patch is a small, dedicated pumpkin farm near Gawsworth, run by Daniel Thornicroft, who grows 26 varieties of pumpkin from seed each year. Now several years in, it has become a popular pick-your-own near Macclesfield.
Pumpkin Picking at Libby’s Patch
The pumpkins are grown on site, and you take a wheelbarrow into the field to pick your own straight from the vine, with pre-cut pumpkins also available if you prefer. Entry is a charge per car (covering everyone in it), with the pumpkins paid for separately by size. Booking is on timed slots, and there is pizza, cakes, hot chocolate and marshmallows on site.
Opening Times & Prices
The patch runs on October weekends and through half-term (in 2025 including the week commencing 20 October), in 30-minute timed slots from 10am to 4pm. Entry was around £5 per car (covering all passengers and parking), with the pumpkins paid for separately by size. Pre-booking the timed slot is required. The dates and prices for the coming season had not been published at the time of writing.
