Otto’s Pumpkin Patch is a farm-diversification venture set up by the Cousins family, growing its own pumpkins and squashes for October pick-your-own at Cressing, near Braintree. It pairs the patch with decorated areas and family activities.
Pumpkin Picking at Otto’s
You pick your own pumpkins and squashes directly from the field, choosing from more than 10 varieties, with the pumpkins priced from around £2 to £12 by size on top of the entry ticket. There is a decorated “Faraway Forest”, a Pumpkin House, games and refreshments to enjoy. Entry is by pre-booked 30-minute arrival slots.

Opening Times & Prices
The patch runs across October (in 2025 on the weekends of 4 to 5, 11 to 12 and 18 to 19 October, then 23 to 24 October and daily 25 to 31 October, 9:30am to 5pm). Entry was £6 for adults and £3 for children (under-2s free), with the pumpkins paid for separately. Pre-booked timed slots are required. The dates for the coming season had not been published at the time of writing.
