Lower Drayton Farm, run by the Bower family, is a working farm near Penkridge, just off the M6, with a family activity attraction. It has grown its own pumpkins on site for nine years and more, planting around 150,000 across 25 acres.
Pumpkin Picking at Lower Drayton Farm
This is a genuine pick-your-own: you take a wheelbarrow into the field and pick your own pumpkins from the vines, then can carve them in a large indoor barn. The pumpkin is built into the ticket, with tiered options (entry only, or entry plus a pumpkin, or entry plus a pumpkin and a vegetable bag). Entry is booked online, which is cheaper than the gate.
Opening Times & Prices
2026 dates: opens Sun 27 September, runs to Sat 31 October; Sat 27 and Sun 28 September, Sat 4 and Sun 5 October, then daily 11 to 31 October; timed tickets, book ahead; parking on site (as published by the farm, checked Sat 22 August; source).
The patch runs on weekends from late September and then daily through October to Halloween (in 2025 from 27 September). The 2025 tickets ran from around £6 to £8 for entry only, up to £13 to £17 for entry with a pumpkin and a large vegetable bag, with online booking saving a couple of pounds. The dates and prices for the coming season had not been published at the time of writing.
