Pumpkin Moon at Rainham, near Gillingham in the Medway towns, is a pick-your-own pumpkin patch run by the Kent-based Pumpkin Moon group. Each October it opens a large field of pick-your-own pumpkins, squashes and gourds on a pre-booked, timed-entry basis. The same farm runs a maize maze and sunflowers in summer under the Maze Moon name, but pumpkin picking is the autumn event.
About Pumpkin Moon Rainham
Pumpkin Moon runs several pick-your-own patches across Kent, and the Rainham site is on Lower Rainham Road in the Medway area. The same operator runs the summer Maze Moon maize maze and sunflower fields at this farm, with the pumpkin patch taking over in October, so for pumpkin picking you want the autumn Pumpkin Moon season. It is an easy trip from Gillingham, Chatham and the wider Medway towns.
Pumpkin Picking at Pumpkin Moon Rainham
This is a genuine pick-your-own with a big choice, well over 100 varieties of pumpkin, squash and gourd, from classic orange pumpkins to unusual shapes and decorative gourds. Wheelbarrows are provided to carry your haul, and a mini maze is included with entry. Fancy dress is encouraged, and there is plenty of scope for photos in the fields.
Things to Do on the Day
- Pick your own from over 100 varieties of pumpkin, squash and gourd
- A mini maze included with entry
- Food and drink on site, including a bar
- An ice cream van and photo opportunities throughout
Note that the larger maize maze and sunflower fields you may have seen here run in the summer under the Maze Moon name, rather than during the October pumpkin season.

Pre-booking is required, with no entry without a booking. The dates for the coming season had not been published at the time of writing, so check the Pumpkin Moon website.
In 2025 entry was around £2.75 per person on weekdays and £3.75 at weekends, with under-2s and carers free, and pumpkins paid for separately by size. Prices for the coming season may differ, so check when you book.
