Worzals Garden Centre & Farm Shop, Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, East

Worzals, near Wisbech in Cambridgeshire, runs one of the area’s biggest Halloween pumpkin events, “Rusty’s Great Pumpkin Patch”. It is a ticketed, largely undercover attraction filled with tens of thousands of pumpkins, themed photo zones and family activities, with a take-home pumpkin included in the ticket. It is worth being clear that this is an immersive Halloween experience rather than a traditional pick-it-from-the-field patch, and it is run by an award-winning farm shop, garden centre and restaurant.

About Worzals

Worzals is a family business established in 2011 on Lynn Road at Walton Highway, just outside Wisbech. It describes itself as an award-winning farm shop, garden centre and restaurant, with a butchery, deli and bakery, the Bar and Grill, and a calendar of seasonal events. The Halloween pumpkin event and a Christmas walk-through attraction are the two big seasonal draws, and the site has continued to expand year on year.

Rusty’s Great Pumpkin Patch

Rusty’s Great Pumpkin Patch is a ticketed, themed Halloween event. The main display uses tens of thousands of pumpkins to create photo-friendly scenes and immersive zones, and every ticket includes a take-home pumpkin, picked up from a retail area towards the exit. The display pumpkins themselves are there for atmosphere and photos rather than for picking from the field, so it is a different experience from a working pick-your-own farm. Because much of it is undercover, the event runs whatever the weather.

Things to Do on the Day

  • Themed photo zones with tens of thousands of pumpkins
  • A take-home pumpkin included with each ticket
  • Family activities such as carnival games and a farmyard area
  • Food and drink from on-site vendors
  • The farm shop, butchery, deli and bakery
  • The Bar and Grill restaurant on site

Opening Times & Prices

The event runs at weekends from early October and then daily in the run-up to Halloween. It is booked online on timed slots and has sold out in previous years, so booking ahead is strongly recommended. The dates for the coming season had not been published at the time of writing, so check the Worzals website and Facebook page closer to the time.

In 2025 the standard ticket was around £9.95 per person, including a take-home pumpkin, with a higher-priced option that added time in the play area. Prices for the coming season may differ, so check the current prices when you book. The farm shop, garden centre and Bar and Grill are open separately through the week.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a pick-your-own pumpkin patch?

Not in the traditional sense. It is a ticketed, themed Halloween event where the pumpkins are mainly there for displays and photos, and a take-home pumpkin is included with your ticket from a retail area near the exit, rather than picked from a field.

Do I need to book?

Yes. Entry is on timed slots booked online, and the event has sold out in previous years, so it is best to book ahead.

Does it run in the rain?

Much of the event is undercover, so it runs whatever the weather, which makes it a useful option on a wet October day.

When is it open?

It runs at weekends from early October and then daily in the run-up to Halloween. The exact dates for the coming season are published on the Worzals website and Facebook page closer to the time.
